In short
Aures Portfolio does not use cookies, does not require an account, and does not store your portfolio data on any server. Here is the complete list of what leaves your device, and why.
- No cookies are set by this website or the app, on any page.
- Your portfolio data — assets, transactions, dividends, history — stays in your browser's local storage and is never transmitted to us.
- Anonymous visit statistics are collected via GoatCounter, a cookieless analytics service, to understand how many people use the site.
- Instrument lookups (ISIN or ticker searches) pass through our server to OpenFIGI and Yahoo Finance, without any personal data attached.
Data controller
Aures Portfolio is developed and published independently. For any privacy-related question, you can reach the developer directly at the address below.
Aures Portfolio is currently run as an individual project rather than through a registered company. If that changes, this section will be updated with full legal details.
Your portfolio data
Everything you enter into the app — holdings, transactions, dividends, currencies, categories, snapshots — is saved using your browser's local storage, under your control, on your device only.
- This data is never sent to our server, and we have no way to read, access, or recover it.
- It stays in your browser until you clear your browser data, use the app's reset option, or manually delete it — there is no remote copy.
- If you export a backup file, that file is saved to your own device or cloud storage of choice — again, not to us.
Cookies
This website and app do not use cookies of any kind — not for functionality, not for analytics, not for advertising. Since no cookies are set, no cookie-consent banner is shown.
Some browsers may still show a generic "local storage" indicator in developer tools — that refers to your portfolio data (see previous section), which is not a cookie and is not used for tracking.
Analytics
We use GoatCounter, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service, to see how many people visit the site and which pages are used.
- GoatCounter does not set cookies and does not build long-term profiles of individual visitors.
- It records basic technical data — page visited, referring site, browser and country, derived from a temporarily processed IP address — to produce aggregate statistics only.
- No data from this analytics service is cross-referenced with your portfolio data, which GoatCounter never has access to.
- See GoatCounter's own privacy policy for full technical detail.
Third parties
A small number of external services are involved, each for a specific, limited purpose.
Legal basis & retention
- Portfolio data is processed solely by you, on your own device — we are not a data controller for this data, since it never reaches us.
- Aggregate analytics are processed under legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) — understanding basic usage of a free tool — and are kept only in aggregate, anonymized form by GoatCounter.
- Instrument lookups are processed to provide the specific feature you request at that moment (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and are not stored after the request completes.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to its processing.
- For your portfolio data, you already have full control: view, export, or delete it at any time from within the app — no request to us is needed.
- For analytics data, individual visitors cannot be identified, so individual access or deletion requests cannot be matched to a specific person — you can still contact us with any concern.
- You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority — in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a new feature introduces a new third-party service — this page will be updated and the "last updated" date at the top will change accordingly.
